Norton Community Park Playground Improvements

Play at Norton Park is expanding for teens and adults! New features at the park will create more ways to move, play, and connect. From teens looking for a new challenge to adults looking to stay active and social, the Norton Playground will be a space where everyone can play. 

The City of Burlington is renewing the playground at Norton Community Park (3035 Tim Dobbie Dr.) in Summer 2026 once students are out of school.

Project scope

The proposed improvements include:

• removal of existing playground equipment and safety surface
• new obstacle course equipment geared towards teens and adults
• new swings with 10 foot top bar for higher swinging
• protective safety surface material will be rubber for increased accessibility
• updated basketball court surface

The other park amenities will remain open during construction, however, there could be some minor inconveniences due to construction activity. The playground area will remain closed and fenced off with signs posted until final third-party CSA safety inspection is complete.
