Within 20 days of the date of the notice of Council decision, an applicant or individual may appeal Council's decision related to a development application. The Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) hears and decides appeals and matters related to land use planning, environmental and natural features and heritage protection, land valuation, land compensation, municipal finance, and related matters.

Proposed Development

• The redevelopment proposes an 18 storey condominium apartment building consisting of 164 residential units.

• The site is approximately 0.23 hectares in size with frontage on James Street and Martha Street.

• On February 1, 2019, the applicants submitted a revised development proposal which includes an 18-storey building (inclusive of rooftop mechanical and rooftop amenity space). The number of proposed units has increased from 153 to 164.

• On December 13, 2019, the applicants submitted a revised submission to address a variety of technical issues.
• On February 26, 2020, the City received a letter from the applicant providing notice of appeal to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) of the subject Official Plan Amendment, Zoning By-law Amendment, and Site Plan applications. The appeals were filed on the basis that the City had not made a decision within the allotted timeframe set out in the Planning Act.
